Prayers for this week
Almighty God, who sent your Holy Spirit to be the life and light
of your Church: open our hearts to the riches of your grace, that
we may bring forth the fruit of the Spirit in love and joy and
peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and
reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now
and for ever. Amen
Holy Father, who gathered us here around the table of your Son
to share this meal with the whole household of God: in that new
world where you reveal the fullness of your peace, gather people
of every race and language to share in the eternal banquet of
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
God of new beginnings, we pray that you will
transform your church as you renew us by your love. Give us vision
for the journey that we may travel light and live increasingly by
faith. Inspire, enliven and empower us, so that along the Way we
may be sustained by the life of Christ in ourselves, in one another
and in the world. Amen.
Loving heavenly Father, receive our prayer on behalf of
the Great Harwood Ecumenical Partnership. Through the inspiration
of your Holy Spirit, guide those who are working to bring together
the different denominations; Bless those in each of the churches
who are concerned about what the future might be for them; Comfort
those with doubts; and enable the outcome to be your will; in the
name of your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Do you believe and trust in God
the Father,
source of all being and life,
the one for whom we exist ?
We believe and trust in him
Do you believe and trust in God the Son
who took our human nature
died and rose again ?
We believe and trust in him
Do you believe and trust in God the Holy Spirit,
who gives life to the people of God
and makes Christ known in the world ?
We believe and trust in him
This is the faith of the church
This is our faith.
We believe in one God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Amen
